Board of Supervisors

Holmes SWCD is governed by five elected supervisors who are public officials responsible to the people of Holmes County and the state of Ohio. Our supervisors donate their time and talents as unpaid stewards of conservation. Serving for 2005 are:

The supervisors hold a public meeting each month to ensure the goals of the District are being met, as determined in an annual plan of work. In addition to these monthly meetings, supervisors also participate in national and state conferences, training and educational activities. Supervisors serve three-year terms.

District Technician—Merle Swartzentruber

Contact for: surveying and designing a conservation practice, animal waste pollution complaints, pond design information, cost-share information.

Water Quality Technician—Joe Christner

Contact for: comprehensive nutrient management plans, soil and water testing, water quality monitoring, subdivision regulations, and grazing.
